Maybank will extend
its banking hours on weekdays to provide greater convenience
to customers, in view of the 5-day work week to be
observed by the banking industry.
The extended banking hours with effect from February
01, 2006 will be as follows:
I. All states except Kelantan and
Terengganu
Monday to Thursday -9.15 am to 4.30 pm
Friday - 9.15 am to 4.00 pm
II. Kelantan and Terengganu
Sunday – Wednesday -9.15 am to 4.30 pm
Thursday - 9.15 am to 4.00 pm
The revised banking hours will provide
even more banking hours compared with the previous
5 ½ day working week day. As a bank committed
to knowing our customers better, we have extended
the banking hours to enable our customers to enjoy
greater banking flexibility,” said Encik Agil
Natt, Deputy President of Maybank.
“We are also offering Saturday
Banking at 26 selected Maybank branches nationwide
which are primarily located at major shopping complexes
and areas that have high customer traffic. The branches
will offer selected number of banking services mainly
for remittances and payments as well as deposits,
sales and financial advisory service. The branches
will also cater to their home branch customers, i.e.
customers who have their accounts maintained at these
branches,” added Encik Agil.
The banking hours for the 26 branches
offering Saturday Banking (List in Appendix 1) will
be from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm. These branches will,
however, be closed on gazetted public holidays.
Encik Agil stated that notwithstanding
the 5-day work week, customers who require basic banking
transactions on Saturdays can also use Maybank’s
various delivery channels namely self service terminals
such as ATMS, cash and cheque deposit machines, passbook
update machines, Maybank2u.com, Maybank2e.net, phone
banking or mobile banking services.
Maybank has more than 2,600 self
service terminals including over 1,400 ATMs nationwide.
In addition to these, Maybank has 58 forex booths
which operate 7 days a week for 8 hours daily at strategic
locations in the country where customers can also
send remittances, purchase foreign worker’s
demand draft (TAKA), buy or encash travelers cheques
as well as cash advances on Visa and Mastercard.
